Cut through the agentic AI hype, and put it to work
Agents are AI that can take actions and complete tasks over several steps, not just answer a question, and they are appearing fast across everyday tools. This hands-on, self-paced course helps professionals and teams understand what agents really are, use them well, keep them safe, and decide where they fit, without the hype and without needing any technical background.
Who it is for
Professionals and teams who are seeing AI agents appear in their tools and want to use them well, plus managers, and change, governance and risk people who need a practical grounding. No coding or data-science background required.
How it works
Fully self-paced. Work through the nine modules in order, or go straight to the ones you need. Each is a self-contained lesson with a worked example, a real case study, templates to adapt, and a short quiz to check understanding.
- Explain what makes AI 'agentic', and how agents actually work, without the hype
- Spot where agents genuinely help, and where they do not, with a simple fit test
- Brief, use and supervise an agent to get reliable results on real work
- Recognise the risks of autonomy and put practical guardrails in place
- Oversee and govern agent use so it stays safe and accountable
- Build a simple agent for a real task using no-code tools, and make the case to pilot it
Built on what is really happening with agents
Agentic AI is one of the fastest-moving areas in the field, so the course is written to be current and honest. Every module is illustrated with a real, well-documented case study, from breakthrough deployments to cautionary tales, and Flowline keeps the material up to date as the technology and the guidance change.
Nine modules, from what agents are to putting them to work
Each module stands on its own, with content, a worked example, a real case study, templates you can adapt, and a knowledge-check quiz.
What Agentic AI Is
What agents are, what makes them 'agentic', and why capable ones have arrived now.
How Agents Work
The parts of an agent and the plan-act-observe loop, in plain terms, no tech overwhelm.
Where Agents Help, and Where They Don't
Strong fits, poor fits, the human-essential line, and a simple fit test.
Using Agents Well
Briefing, giving the right tools, checking the work, and keeping a human in the loop.
The Risks of Autonomy
How errors become actions, prompt injection, shadow AI, and where accountability sits.
Guardrails and Staying in Control
Least privilege, human approval, constrained scope, monitoring, and a kill switch.
Governing Agents at Work
Ownership, an acceptable-use rule, a register, and fitting into wider AI governance.
Building a Simple Agent
Build one for a real task with no-code tools, connect it safely, and test it before it runs.
The Business Case, and Getting Started
Weigh value, cost and risk, make the case, and plan a safe first pilot.
Content, case studies and templates you can use
The course is built to be applied, not just watched. Alongside the teaching, every module comes with working documents you can adapt for your own work.
- Nine self-paced modules of original, practical content, in plain language
- A worked example and a real, well-documented case study in every module

- A knowledge-check quiz with answers and explanations in every module
- No coding or technical background needed
12 months’ access to all nine modules, templates and quizzes, worked at your own pace.
Roll the course out across a team, with options to tailor it to your organisation. Enquire for details.
This course is educational. It helps you use and oversee AI agents safely; for high-stakes or critical uses, involve the right technical and governance expertise.
Good to know
Do I need a technical or coding background?
No. The course is written for professionals and teams with no technical background. It explains agents in plain language and builds up gently, and even the hands-on module uses no-code tools.
Is it self-paced or live?
It is fully self-paced. You work through the nine modules in your own time, in order or by picking the ones you need. Each module is self-contained.
Is this the same as the live Agents & Automation module?
No. This is a self-paced course you work through in your own time. The Agents & Automation live module is separate: two Wednesdays, taught live on Microsoft Teams by a trainer. If you’re not sure which suits you, get in touch and we’ll help you choose.
I’m fairly new to AI. Can I still take it?
Yes. If you’re comfortable with everyday software and have tried an AI chat tool, you have enough to begin. Module 1 includes a short recap of the core ideas, and everything is explained in plain language.
What comes with each module?
Teaching content, a worked example, a real case study, one or more templates you can adapt, and a short knowledge-check quiz with answers and explanations.
Do the quizzes just give me a score?
No. Every quiz question comes with the answer and an explanation, so you can see why something is right, not just whether you got it right.
How do you keep it up to date?
Agents are one of the fastest-moving areas of AI, so we review the course regularly and update the case studies and guidance as the tools and the rules change.
Will I actually build an agent?
Yes, if you want to. Module 8 walks you through building a simple, safe agent for a real task using no-code tools, with a build worksheet and a pre-launch test checklist.
Will I have to put work information into an agent?
No. In Module 8 you start with a small, low-stakes task, and your first agent only reads and sorts things, it doesn’t send, delete or change anything. Keep anything confidential, personal or client-related out of it, and you’ll see how to connect tools safely before you go any further.
Can my team take it together?
Yes. There are team and in-house options, including tailoring the course to your organisation. Get in touch and we will set it up.
How much does it cost?
Prices will be confirmed when the course opens. Register your interest and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available, along with team and in-house options.
How long does it take?
About 18 hours in total, roughly 2 hours per module. That includes the reading, the templates, the quiz and applying it to your own work. Most people do a module a week, but you can go at whatever pace suits you.
How long do I have access, and can I ask questions?
You have 12 months’ access to everything, and during that time you can email us with any questions as you work through it.
Do I get a certificate?
No. Our certificate is only awarded for the full AI & Generative AI Practitioner Programme. This course is about building practical skills and templates you can use straight away.
What if I change my mind?
You can have a full refund within 14 days of buying, as long as you haven’t gone beyond Module 2. After that, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.
